Are you the keeper of a giant Turtle or Tiger?
Both obviously.
Gato’s back in while the Modwright gets some TLC.
Decided to replace some really old Monitor Audio Pureflow speaker cable with some fancy Chord Shawline X. Both are silver plated copper of similar cross section but the Shawline blows the MA cable out of the water. Did help I managed to get the Shawline for the equivalent of £11 per meter as they were an unused order. Never really been a cable believe but partially converted. Or at least for speaker cables and interconnects. Still not sure what a £1000 power lead can offer for the final 1m of a the journey from the local substation and beyond.

Now something I might need help with. I am seriously considering replacing the Nagra PLP and Border Patrol 300b PP with either a Accuphase or Luxman integrated. Although I perhaps need to find a dealer who could do me a loan of one first.
Am I loosing it, or what?
Is this a convienience over quality thing? FWIW the Aurorasound integrated is a rather nice performer £ for sound if your speakers aren’t too gutsy.
Don’t do it.
I’d slow down cowboy. What you’ve got is very nice but sounds like you’re looking for a fling with a mistress which might be different but also bring regret.
Been watching too many YouTube videos and like the looks/fancy a change. But hear you all loud and clear, don’t break what already works well.
Not in the system yet. Put in a low offer on these when I’m supposed to be saving money thinking the seller wouldn’t accept. Bollocks.
Thats certainly a left field turntable/arm, although for the life of me I can’t remember what they were called. Arm perhaps totem.
Do remember when I first saw one on I think AOS I wanted one, more for the arm.
Transfi Terminator (dentist built them in a shed basically). Shows how bad tracking error really is when you hear a lack of it.
Sitting on a Garrard 401 with a SlateAudio glassmat from 25 years ago in a plinth made of left over worktop.
Ah yes, would never have remembered that, perhaps the spare arms were called totem now I think of it. Did he also did a turntable with perhaps rim drive.
Spare arm wand was named Tomahawk
Yes rim drive was his Salvation turntable I had one but with a verus rim drive - Effective arm length on the paralell tracker was variable ,but something as short as 50mm was possible - I ran one with a AN IO for many years. Bass was superbly tight.
