Shiny brand new second hand things in my system today V1.2 (Part 1)

Stop fucking about and get it mounted

No headshell. The new one is being replaced as it had a few blemishes that I think were a manufacturing blip.
And of course they have to order a new one in!

CD rules for now.

How are you finding it compares?

I have only had about 30mins with it playing so far so I will report back when I have spent a bit of time with it.

Neat Elite SX

Had the SE years ago and they were fantastic speakers so when I saw these on eBay for a good price had no choice.

That’s some room for an episode of hi de hi

Has the young yapper started chewing cables yet, or is he past that stage?

he’s not chewing cables that much now but pretty much everything else is still fair game

Currently experimenting with a rel T9x in my system. The Roger’s are generally very enjoyable but lack any real information below 50hz.

A good offer came up from my local supplier of Hifi related drug habit. They’ve loaned me it to try out.

Took a while to work out where best in the room gave the best balance. Around here seems to work and integrates fairly smoothly with the mains.

Measurements showed fairly even bass spread and decent extension down to mid 20s in room.

A new arrival on the amplifier front, a Belles Soloist 1 from PFM. I had been looking at power amps but this came up for a price I could not resist!
Not had a proper listen as the system in this room is all packed up due to a family member staying with us for an extended period of time.

Enjoy, although suspect will take a while to remember it always starts with the mute on.

I’m jealous. I really fancied that Belles.

After flip-flopping between idle-drivers and DD, finally committed to a new TT. Completely out of my depth, only ever having had fit and forget Rega’s and Technics.
Had some top advice, listened to both varieties to determine what would suit me and also encourage my teenage daughters to play more vinyl.
This Sony sounds very different. Now shopping for accessories.
