I haven’t seen one do either of those tbh !

In my experience they expire with a lot of smelly fumes and blow the mains fuse

how “hot” is “hot” btw? can you leave your fingers on it?

This hot.

Have you considered a Pioneer A400?

No, I can’t, at all, it’s 64° on the chrome case top.

Looking at images on the web, the rectifier valve also seems to be rather red, as per the pic a couple of posts up.

No, why ? Are they good ?

What Hifi said so

I must say, the resale price of this thing is plummeting with each post

Best sell it in US dollars.

It’s a day of cutting edge modernity here today. First up, the absolutely brand spanking new PSB Passif 50 arrived for shakedown:

Then, an hour later, the equally new Mission 700 arrived;

The PSBs have evicted the ‘new’ Neat Petite Classic which is only based on a 30 year old design so absolutely of the moment too.

It is bloody brilliant mind.

Must get my petites fixed one day

Those PSB Passif 50 look bloody fantastic.

Huey, Dewey and Louie from Silent Running is what they look like

That’s not necessarily a criticism.

Purely on aesthetics, it’s the Mission by a country mile for me. I think they look fabulous and the build quality is really good too. For £1,500 with stands given it’s made here, I think- by the very loose standards of ‘value’ in audio in 2022, they’re good value too.

On sound, it’s the Neat though; that’s one of the best things I’ve reviewed all year.
