Not sure how having two massive gold coloured monoblocs on the floor is very aesthetic.

Audio Note J or E would give a similar aesthetic to your Harbeths with much better sound and far easier to drive so you can save a fortune on amplification.

My impression is that the AN’s don’t go particularly loud or deep? Not sure how much they’d serve the broad range of music I listen to. But I have often looked at them fondly from a looks perspective

Of course it’s subjective but I know this style of flat well and it would totally work for me :+1:

I had the back bedroom of a main door as a listening room. All Cyrus rig :grimacing:

Are you listening to both digital and analogue in your assessments? Asking as a few attributes noted could easily fit in discussion about the Vida.

Rescued UPS from trying to deliver a package from Japan to a confused 94 year old -

Looks untouched!

What they do say if you look carefully is to set tracking force between 2-3g so err plenty of wriggle room and experimentation then.

Meant for a heavier arm than mine (their own presumably) but first listen is very promising.

Sounds adequate plugged into matching FR SUT.

Any idea what year these came out?

FR had such an interesting product range

1980 or possibly ‘79. I don’t think that 7fz were ever offered outside of Japan.

Mine came from Japan for the princely sum of £461 including all fees and charges .

I imagine the British hifi press dismissed it all as more ‘Jap-crap’, but the quality of their arms, carts and step ups is right up there including what’s on the market right now.

There was some fr stuff in the uk in the 80s
I had the 64s in the early 80s,and I knew of a few people who had the 24 on the lp12
No idea who or where they were getting them from

My latest downsizing has resulted in buying a Pair of Martin Logan speakers and a John Wood Audio KT88 Fu-king heavy intergrated monster, I may need to revise this plan. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Foo sack trolley required. Only £2499 with earthing box and cryogenic wheel bearings.

A second pair of Townshend Speaker Podiums - these ones are size 3 to go with my size 2 set. Now I have my Avantgarde Duos on the new size 3s and the custom build Wilmslow HSM and stands on the size 2s.
