Shiny brand new second hand things in my system today V1.2

Yep. Pretty much where I am :+1:

I loved the good old standard SL1210mk2 arm, headshell and overhang gauge, it just worked :+1:.

Meh!

Keep watering them and you never know.

Think I’ve heard them at Bristol with one of the nait amps, and they sounded fine. Forgot how small they are.

Wonder if they’ve been sitting about a long time unused

Was just thinking the same, or they’ve been in a cold warehouse.

They’ve been playing for an hour now and with a bit more volume they do seem to be opening up.

I ve had it happen just once. I really thought they must broken. Think they took around 8-12 hours to start sounding decent. That was also in cold weather when they had been sitting about unused.

…Or someone’s blown the tweeters…

Drilled mine out, problem solved :slightly_smiling_face: Should have kept that arm. Still have the turntable it came off.

Deleted the last post as it wasn’t fair on them

In my quest to go simple and small I’ve bought some Neat Iota Alpha speakers.

After running them for a bit they have really opened up and I’m really impressed how good these sound. They really are tiny and comically so when sat on the floor. It’s weird how when you look at them the thought is how can something this minuscule produce this sound.

They are a bit closed in at low volumes but once they hit a certain level they just seem to click on and the sound and detail just opens up.

I’m a big fan of Neats and based on these really want to hear the Xtremes

The mystique 2 was one of my favourite speakers I’ve had. With an old exposure x they sounded very good

Scratching an itch.

To peel that label off

Just like to keep the arm original. Also cuts down options. One can be stunned by choice and go into fibrillating dither mode. Of course, I do have another…Not in a hurry to investigate other arms ATM.

Definitely not shiny or new.
They came with some cheapish cable and I forgot I had them.
The clever bit is they can either be straight,or you can unscrew the part that goes in the amp/speaker,and have it at 90 degrees.

No idea who makes/made them, but can’t find any on google

Edit, doh, bit of a clue as it says supra on the plastic

Neo Geo games and watch purchases to go with them?
