Main system in same room as CBeebies…
I wrestle with the one of anything idea, it seems so gratuitously reserved.
You can still have substitutes in a single system!
That’s my plan anyway.
Not if you have horns. Carries perfectly well up the stairs and still sounds easy at a level where the drivers aren’t producing masses of distortion
I do that with the Avantgardes to listen to music in the kitchen, just wang it up and it sounds great.
Distortion isn’t the issue. The volume at which it ‘carries nicely’ is just as audible next door for my long suffering neighbours. As I like them, I’ve adopted a two system approach.
I’m also hazarding a guess you can’t turn your downstairs system on while lying in bed. (Ironically, I can but, for the reasons given above, I don’t tend to).
Not sure what that is?
Have you got a photo of the bottom and any markings?
It’s a Google wiretap, Assistant. I’ve tested Google Assistant speakers and, while I can genuinely see the use in a kitchen, they’re of limited scope anywhere else.
Woooooosh
(Watch what I did there)
Only time will tell
The only vaguely creepy 47 Laboratory deerskin record mat turned up today. Looks a bit weird, works a charm.
That P10 is a nifty looking design. Rather modern looking for a British piece of kit. How does it compare with the Gyrodec?
Now just what do I definitely not need (another of) in my system? Those who have been here may remember that my main listening room has wobbly floors and no convenient solid wall for a shelf.
So (damn you all for tempting me at every bakeoff!) here is my attempt to keep the British engineering industry (aka Chris in his shed in Wigan) going…
Temporary setup but it does sound nice and look nice
Ok, I need to pay Chris a post lockdown visit, just to have a chat, of course…
Whereabouts in Wigan is his shed?
Well, near Wigan. Hindley Green. He has 2 of these lovely viscous-damped suspended decks, and 2 with solid oak bases.
Hindley Green is still Wigan, despite what the residents might imagine/prefer.
They look nice…
Spendy?
The ones above are, mine was less (though a lot simpler in construction).
Clip Engineering?
