That news was apparently posted on the Evri intranet on the 1st April…
I guess it shows how well the BBC check their sources nowadays!
Oh no, I believe the story is absolutely genuine, there have since been clarifications internally about it, but understandably on the day it did cause a fair bit of disbelief.
Dog-like robot couriers. What a time to be alive
Could you get one to take your dog for a walk?
Huge market!
I always thought the word lurgy would go back to the plague,but it seems it came about in mid 1700 ish.Though only became a regular used word in the 1950s;
The word “lurgy,” meaning a mild illness or disease, gained popularity through the 1950s BBC radio comedy “The Goon Show,” particularly in the phrase “the dreaded lurgi,” popularized by scriptwriters Spike Milligan and Eric Sykes.
Not everything is as old as you are although I guess if anyone is going to have the facts about what went on in 1700…
New solar powered post boxes are on the way.
Hopefully that will see the end to the crotched ‘topper’ abominations in our towns and villages
Stop being so miserable!

Crocheted.
Trying to find entertainment for Lopwell when there is so much good out there at the moment is difficult
I think this one just pips it
I wouldn’t use royal mail 24, 48 etc, if you paid me. Fucking awful sevice, tracking is abysmal and any changes you make to the delivery, such as a safe place, means a weeks delay. They have managed to make Yodel competent.
We get post every 3rd or 4th day, 24, 48 etc immaterial. They’re a complete shambles, not fit for purpose.
They are fit for purpose- which is to make dividends for shareholders!
Privatisation, innit!
