That a failed polypropylene filter capacitor can do a surprising amount of damage (section 1.4 here https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/547c6fa6ed915d4c10000031/QM2Report.pdf). Especially if it’s filtering the AC supply to the propulsion motors on the Queen Mary 2.

I should have been in the Marquee on March 4th 1979:

To see Mandy H obviously…:unamused:

#384

life hack, for doing percentages:

x% of y = y% of x

So, for example, if you needed to work out 4% of 75 in your head, just flip it and and do 75% of 4, which is easier.

I would probably have gone the night before as well. Thankfully I did get to see The Members when they supported Devo.at Hammersmith Odeon, December.

Reminds me where is Bmtel these days?

I love the fact that not all multiplication is commutative.

#391

The basis of the Rubiks cube.

#392

Is it? I mostly know of matrix multiplication as being the main exception.

#393

Yep, it was built to demonstrate group theory where multiplication is not commutative in all cases. A standard Rubiks cube move is a - b - reverse of a for two different moves a and b with the result not being the same as b.

There is such a thing as the Universal law of Urination

It might explain this song

#395

What did you do today dad?

I created a model to describe urination in various animals.

That thing about oxygen is true. Oxygen kills you. Just not as quickly as no oxygen.

VB

#399

If you are sub aqua diving pure oxygen kills you pretty quickly at below 8m.
