Make sure you have a backup of whatever you put on the HDD. That will avoid a world of pain and anguish when the inevitable happens.

Getting worried now.
I am still using a DS115 that I bought in Jan 2015, so 8 years old in a couple of weeks.
This also means that the the 3TB WD Red drive is the same age 
The previous 3 NAS I deliberately retired at 5 years old.
This one lasted 4.5 years before developing (at least) two separate mechanical problems with the enclosure - nothing wrong with the disc/s as far as I’m aware.
Total crapshoot AFAIK.
