Slaughterhouse

When I had low sodium (and high potassium) they literally told me to eat lots of crisps

One of my favourite films. Shame WA is on my ā€œreally not sure I should watch that any moreā€ list.

Sorry to hear that Ɠlan. I’ve sat through enough dysnatraemia treatment to know what a drag it is.

I was genuinely surprised to find out just how complex the body’s feedback mechanisms for electrolyte control are. There has been a fair bit of work put into trying to model them but it seems there’s still no practical tool available to support clinicians at the bedside. And there often isn’t much time. Patients turn up with an issue without any real warning and they have to set about sorting it there and then. I asked the doctor what symptoms to look out for that would tell us if Claire’s sodium was on the slide. She shrugged her shoulders and said ā€œIt makes you feel a bit shitā€.

Best of luck to your MiL Guy, and hope you get sorted and your day isn’t too tiresome Ɠlan.

FFS, this ^^^

Can’t have the ups without the downs.

Currently sitting waiting for an X Ray of my deteriorating right hip. The left one was resurfaced in 2007 and its holding up but the right one is getting increasingly painful so I need to get on the pathway towards replacement. Who knows what the wait time might be for surgery though.

Home now. That was a feckin’ tedious day but hopefully I will start to feel a bit less run down and shitty than usual.

Might later, but I’m not interested right now. I feel tired out so I doubt booze would be sensible. Might have an AF beer later on with dinner.

I was at my GPs surgery on Monday evening as I’m having trouble with my left hip joint. She advised me there is now a three year wait for a hip replacement :anguished:

Well she’s ok apparently.

I was going to make some ā€œshe didn’t dieā€ crack but my dad did apparently ā€œdieā€ on the table and they had to zap him to bring him back. That must have have given the team a nasty turn.
