I’ve watched official footage of R M Williams’ technique for replacement gussets. Due to the design it’s not technically difficult (for a competent cobbler). However, supply of the official gussets (ooh-err) is the reason I went to an approved repairers. £9 per gusset seems a decent cost for the work involved. Also included was several minor repairs to the leather surface (cuts and abrasions), and a resize.
All the work, and shipping came to £207.
These will outlast me.
