IV with fluid damper
I love the transfig sound but the company is dead, and fancy a change
The new Michell Cusis carts are seriously good. Just saying.
Lyra’s Delos is similar in many ways to the Ortofon, and cheaper, plus a bit rhythmically livelier which might be welcome with that TT/arm.
Koetsu’s like 18g+ eff mass
Personally I wouldn’t match an ortofon with that arm, too lean and clinical for my ears.
Mik at Unique suggested these when I was looking, in his opinion the M beats an Umami Red, nice as the latter is
ML is also a really nice cart, it gives and gives as the rest of the system improves. Not the ultimate resolution of the best but no brainer at the money
Get something pretty:
Very pretty, and expensive
Yes, maybe that’s a bit of a downside.
Find out what carts the bloke in honiton is selling, book up an afternoons listening with coffee and biscuits, then buy one off ebay
And don’t forget to pocket any freebies on show…
Does an sme 20 count if I take that
Bring somebody to help you carry it.
Yep love ours
Well, a few changes over the last year.
Turntable, Sony PS-X9 with Sony XL-55 Pro cartridge, tried a few and settled on the Sony.
Pre is now an Esoteric C-03, very happy with it, a pre has to have a remote for me tbh.
Extremely happy with my CD player, Wadia WT-2000 ST optical into Wadia X64.4, by far the best CD player I have owned. The transport has been re-belted and re-set up with a new laser (Sony).
Been trying a few power amps with my new speakers, both valve and transistor and one class D. Settled for the moment at least on some Primare 928 (I have two pairs of these, these are the scruffy pair). They sound fab with the speakers.
Phono stage is Allnic H-1500 II plus with the pimped valves. Still got the H1201 and TBH at the moment I am not 100% with the 1500. I still have to mess about with resistors.
The speakers are a mix of Cabasse Baltic II main units and Velodyne DD15 sub. The DD15 is pretty hard to beat, so the Cabasse sub lies unused at the moment. Will probably be put into the 2nd system. Loving the speakers, like all speakers they have their faults, but they are fast and clean and remind me of Sonus Faber Extrema in many ways (I owned these about 12 years ago).
People are welcome to pop in and have a listen.
Typically eclectic stuff Bob. Love to hear that some time.
Good to have you back BTW
Thanks, the eyeballs on sticks freak people out.
Welcome back Bob.
Nice system.
