tried a HM7 tonight to check out the benefit of better ratio - it sounded brighter than the slagle but not necessarily any better (could happily live with either)
It feels like the silver 1:40 (dave suggested we go up from 36 not sure why?) might be the right answer so money has gone and I am looking forward to ETF (many thanks Pete for the offer to collect which Dave is fine with)

Interesting thread Darren. I have a 0.2mv Shelter 701 which actually works ok with my Tim de Paravicini SUT (1:80 made for an IO) but am struggling with the other SUTs I have and think something like a 1:40 is needed. I don’t think I can justify getting something specially made though.
I ended up going with a 1:30 as my system has a bit too much gain and if it doesn’t suit then it’s probably more resell able
Need to think about a case to pop it in but will be trying them in the mu metal cans Dave supplies as a starter for ten
