Yesterday I UPS’d a jiffy bag to a friend of mine there with £40 worth of components in because he’d heard that all small packages would attract a customs fee from 2 May and different people had told him different numbers for that fee, ranging between $50 and $200. Maybe she’s thinking of the way shootings are normally done in America - the shooter goes to some site or other (school, workplace, government facility, place of worship etc) that they’re pissed off with and just shoots everyone they can find. So ‘shoot on-site’.

I mean, there are still ~170 million Muslims in India, so it’s not like there’s zero beef being eaten. But sure, the vast majority of the population don’t eat it. I was a little surprised when looking some of this up at how heavily Hindu India is - I had this vague impression that it was something like 45:45 Hindu:Muslim, plus 10% of other religions, but it’s over 70% Hindu.
Jess Kelly is being doubly dumb here. None of these judgements so far have said you cannot deport illegal immigrants. They’ve just said that you have to follow due process. And none of these dumb fucks seem to realise that you absolutely have to apply due process to everyone, not just because the Constitution states that you do, but because if you exclude one group, you de facto exclude everyone, because all the authorities have to do is declare you to be in the excluded group, and then you don’t get the due process to be able to demonstrate you are not in fact in that excluded group.

As far as selling beef into muslim countries goes, I’m not sure how the redneck end of the US beef industry would take to being told they had to slaughter their animals in a different way so the meat would be halal.

Come to think of it, it’s about time the current US government got involved in the India/Pakistan conflict. They’ve made such successes of sorting out Palestine and Ukraine that the situation in South Asia really needs their input. Maybe someone from McDonald’s could be sent as Donald’s Special Envoy ?
China has cancelled all future orders for aircraft from Boeing, including 50 which had already been built. 2 have been returned to Boeing from China instead of being delivered to carriers, and a 3rd is on the way. 179 Boeing 737s were planned to be shipped to China before the end of 2027 - all orders are now on hold.
Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg said China “have in fact stopped taking delivery of aircraft because of tariff environment.”
Anyone care to guess who is next in line to pay Trump for a lift on tariffs…?
