This is just performative cruelty as was the botched execution by injection last week.

I have to disagree - it’s both better and far worse than that: because kids are way tougher than most adults give them credit for, and because those that are allowed to witness it will mostly not be traumatised: they’ll be numbed. They’ll learn that such circuses of brutality are normal - just as they routinely do in their very own classrooms when the next shooter rolls up armed by a wilful misinterpretation of a 200 year old bill of rights…
They’ll strap him so he’s upright, the optics of executing someone in a whhelchair would be terrible after all.
