Guess he’ll just keep cutting away at services and replacing them with hisown? He’s already had 38 billion in Gov contracts previously - Asside from the meddling little conflict of interest he can write his own cheques. He is not a politician he’s a libertarian.

It’s a bit buried in the story, but this wasn’t a fresh tender either, this was Musk declaring that the current upgrade program handled by Verizon wasn’t working well enough, which makes the conflict of interest even more pronounced.
It will be interesting to see how much more NASA work gets farmed out to Space X as well.

Yes I saw that, I guess it’s kind of the logical conclusion to capitalism? I would have thought much of this rather cynical or woo woo once but Musk and Trump are not politicians they are Libertarians - just like their backers. People can call them fascists / racists / Republicans / Hero’s or villains and they certainly play to and weaponize those demographics but they are not particularly those things - They are self seeking, self centered greed driven libertarian narcissists. In short Billionaires interested in their empires, their power and what’s in it for them. I can’t imagine them thinking of themselves as servants?..

I like my fantasies to combine infantile fluffiness and a real sense of imminent danger.
