Term-time holidays

So much of your child’s time is wasted on institutional requirements.

Not that they do not need socialisation amongst peers.

But if you can give them extra, lucky.and blessed.

Don’t follow you. I don’t know any teachers who receive bonuses and governors are unpaid.

It’s got nothing to do with my morals, it’s the law.

Clear enough for you?

Also this idea somehow of parents’ rights vs chilldrens’. You’re making it sound like they’re in some kind of bondage. Fucking ludicrous.

The ability to hand on to generations beyond (though delightful) is how division increases.

Conflict yes, bondage no.

A small number of academy chains do this for some staff, but it is only a small number (and slightly difficult to justify under the value for money requirements).

Bonus payments too teaching and Head teaching staff have been available since 2013. As for accademy management, sky’s the limit.

Shouldn’t forget all the consultants at the DofE while we are at it.

Let’s not forget the fines side of this business, hundreds of millions being generated, six thousand fines in Suffolk alone. Bonuses will be driving that. In fact, when dealing with the public sector these days never assume not Bellwood the altruistic BS, the bonus culture is well and truly embedded, especially at the top. Even in my most conservative of departments I find myself deliver ing objectives that secure my bonus, everything else is secondary. Way of the world I’m afraid.

Surely the reason the court case happened in the first place is because of the ridiculous cost of holidays during school holiday time (yes, I know about supply and demand). I don’t entirely agree with what he did, but if he’d taken his daughter on a more ‘educational’ trip would it have gone this far?

The cost of holidays during the 6 weeks of summer, or two at Christmas / Easter, is appalling and that is what should be looked at. Tony ‘The Cunt’ Blair spoke about this when he was campaigning for his first stint at becoming king and said he would sort this out - he did fuck all about it.

In Germany, I believe, each region has it’s holidays at different times and this seems to work with regard to leveling out holiday costs. Public schools in this country generally have different term times and so the parents and pupils are able to take advantage of the cheap deals before the rest of the country breaks up for their holidays. Is that fair?

Serves people right for having kids in the first place - they should be taxed more as well. :smiling_imp:

Childless me subsides parents and brats alike as my taxes are used to pay for Child benefit, education etc etc

The fact that they subsidise my slightly cheaper out of term time holidays and I can enjoy places without all the anklebiters seems eminently fair to me, and doesn’t come near what I pay in taxes. The little shits should stay in full time education so that they can get decent well paid jobs and pay lots of tax to support me in my dribbling dotage,

Given the pay/attractiveness how to bring more ability amongst educators?

Agree with sentiment. Enaction seems unlikely

In addition to my kids my Wife has worked in a school so I have done a tenure of 20 years of expensive school hols time holidays - I do not want it level loaded now that I can choose cheaper holiday times - Thanks

And when our “little shits” are atttending to you cranky old fucks as you dribble out of every orifice, I’ll have a word so you can be left alone to decompose quietly in a cupboard. Self-righteous wankstains.

You’re worse than vegans. Any thread that involves kids you’ll come barrelling in, letting us know how fucking great you are, not having any.

I’ll have done the decent thing and topped myself long before I get to that stage, as sholuld any right minded individual.

Anyone who cannot make a cup of tea or wipe their own arse should be euthansied immediately - though I realise that will reduce our membership quite markedly.

If holidays were more reasonably priced out of school term this would be a non issue.
It’s taking the piss what we’re being charged. My wife is a teacher, so we always have to go during the school holidays.

Three years ago, my wife Sian, missed a teacher training morning at the start of September term. Landing back at Gatwick from Florida on Monday 2nd September (instead of the Sunday) saved us £2700! What a fucking rip-off.

Onlyl out on one count.

absolutely - tax them more - 10% extra per year per child on income tax payable, hike that to 15% for those who have more than 2. Maybe the wallet will be a form of contraception…since nothing else seems to work in many cases…
