The 7th Lopwell bash 13_14_15 june 2025

The dough had defrosted out of the bags.
It had virtually separated into water and sticky paste.
I coated one ball in so much flour it was getting silly, and it still stuck to the oven immediately.

Not sure what the issue was but it wasn’t like any ooni pre made I have ever used. It was like superglue. I suspect it needed a complete restart, with a decent knead, and cool down.

Despite throwing everything at it, the bases bonded to the stone and all of them ended up rolled up at the back. The main implement used was a monkey wrench at the flame end to push them back towards the front. We tried.

Just one of those things.

The pizzas were similar to eating a play dough crust, with atomic chilli heat topping

7 Lopwells in and no one can make an edible pizza. :man_shrugging: as entertainment though, it was pure gold.

Yes it was and I was about to say, always ignore the armchair purists and do whatever it takes to a get an edible pizza out! :cook: :pizza:

What day/ time were the pizzas attempted? Next time out I’ll come prepared to make either a 4 hour same day, or an overnight dough. I’ve got two proving boxes which I think can fit 8-10x 200g doughs in each, so 16-20 pizzas.

Domino you who ! Saves all the lugging about :joy:

Rob !!
That was a great big motorhome you arrived with ..bet it was a comfy sleep .. Did you manage the single lanes back to main road without any mishap ?it would have been a nightmare if you met another especially if there was no passing place near by as I encountered with the Sainsbury’s delivery van on the way there . He decided he would give way and reversed quite a distance downwards which I was pleased about ..

It was fine Micky, I met one vehicle on my way down to the dam, and one on my way out, both at junctions so there was room to pass.

I had one hairy moment on my way in going up a twisty steep hill that had turned into a river in the rain and I had to drop down into first and was spinning the wheels…
