I’ve only lost one to a pothole. Four have been replaced through actual wear. The other four (yes, four) including this one have had screws or debris puncture them.

If you look into this more closely. They have now introduced a tiered membership plan option
The top ‘premium’ plan is indeed now £10-99. Which allows streaming to up to 10 devices simultaneously, ad free.
When I got my email last week I too was initially miffed. But on looking into it more closely I had the option of going for the middle plan which still allows streaming to 2 devices simultaneously for the same £7-99 per month, ad free.
There is also a bottom rung subscription now with ads for £4-99 per month.
I managed to change the subscription in the Disney App. There’s a how too, online.
The current £7.99 premium does UHD/HDR at 4k but the new £7.99 middle tier is 1080p only.

Ah, hadn’t spotted that. For me it makes little practical difference as I only have a 1080p tv.
I seem to remember when I first signed up there being only one plan on offer & I’m subscribed via Amacuntz.
Yeah that’s a hefty increase for getting same, same picture quality.

Setting aside the rights and wrongs of this particular case, the real fucking scandal is EE charging £9,500 roaming charges for the streaming of two football matches. Taking the absolute piss. This could have happened to any family with kids and an amount like that could devastate family finances and put people into real financial hardship.

Thing is, that’s bullshit. There are various caps in place these days and you need to wilfully ignore a bunch of stuff for something like this to happen. This is very much “someone else is paying and I don’t care”, so fuck him.

nope, there are different contracts for business and personal. As Pete says personal contracts have default caps in place to prevent this sort of thing. Business contracts generally have a pool of data for all SIMs under that contract.
The guy wilfully ignored requests from IT to stop using that SIM and use the new contract one for over a year.
During lockdown my old agency sent out mobile wifi devices for people working from home and one muppet decided to use that for his own household, he wiped out the entire agencies data pool allowance for the year in 6 weeks. They then had to find an additional £160k to buy data for the rest of the year. He didn’t get the sack because there was no policy in place saying what he could/couldn’t do with it.
The Scottish Parliament has a policy on acceptable use of IT that he ignored and breached.

You’re missing my point. I’m not disagreeing about Matheson’s guilt in this particular case. Sack him or not, I don’t give a fuck.
My concern is that I don’t believe any contract, business or personal, should allow the provider to set roaming charges of £9500 for streaming two football matches. It’s a ridiculous amount. I suspect the product has been designed to catch people out and penalise them for not being aware of the fine print in their contract.
