The all-new shiny cockpunch thread (Part 1)

That’s the one that grips my shit, all this new debt is pretty much just hidden dividend payments under the bullshit guise of “infrastructure investment”

The govt will probably end up bailing out Thames water and paying off their debt (or dividend payments) so we end up paying for it twice.

The annual work, virtue signaling Christmas emails are gathering pace.

Fuck you. Fuck the lot of you.

Think yourself lucky, we get videos on repeat of our senior managers, wellbeing, mental health, it’s ok to be alone at Christmas etc etc. The large monitor in my office developed a fault, nothing to do with an office full of engineers, no sireee.

To our HR director who decided to give her entire team today off, all 400 of them, whilst the rest of us have to work. Unfortunately she posted it to a public group on workplace (facebook for companies) and it went viral before she realised and deleted it. She’s now managed to piss off pretty much everyone in the firm. Who says it’s one rule for HR…

400 HR drones? How big is the overall company?

She only looks after one division of the firm. About 100k employees in total.

Fuck sake, hopefully everyone refuses to buy it from the twat.

Yeah theft of a road sign or criminal damage isn’t crime either then

The Metropolitan Police said there was no current investigation into the incident as no-one who owned the artwork had come forward to report it stolen.

He’s obviously known that would happen or he”s staged it himself.

Asda can have one. Fol ordered a click and collect for 14.00 slot today. He’s still waiting now and has been told the full order won’t be available so will need to go to Sainsbury’s or Tesco’s.

If we hadn’t been here he would have had 2 kids with him too.

You could list ALL Click & Collect in that.

There is no convenience apart than for the company offering it.

I’d certainly never use it, nor the fast check out option - expecting me to do their job so they can sack someone and make more profit.

It saves me the bother of driving all the way round to Screwfix only to find that they’ve sold the last of the widgets I wanted to someone else earlier the same day.

'Tis the modern way, sadly (or not, for those who’d sooner have ‘cheap’ than ‘easy’). Everything from sorting our rubbish out into different coloured bins to filling my tax return in online nowadays involves more hassle than it did in the old days.

I speak as someone who’s spent half the afternoon searching for the bit of paper which has my Government Gateway ID on it, and that’s already taken longer than it will to fill in the otherwise trivial return, which I could have inked onto a paper form and dropped into a pillar box in less than an hour.

Trust you to pick the only Click & Collect I have found that actually works as it should.

We’re quite lucky. Toolstation are just over the road on the same little estate so there’s even a bit of competition to keep each other on their toes.

With Sainsbury’s 200 yds away and Aldi and Tesco and a Co-Op not very much further I don’t bother with Click and Collect for groceries though. We tried home delivery once or twice but it was quite a lot more hassle than just nipping round to the shop.

Mahoosive cockpunch to my hot water tank which has failed and flooded the ensuite bathroom, which has flooded the kitchen. No idea what we are doing for Xmas without water or heat.

Oh what a bummer Ólan. I normally reckon I can improvise my way out of most problems, but I have to say I’d be trying to get an emergency plumber in this case. British Gas maybe ?

Otherwise buy in a few fan heaters and a ton of bottled water.

If you can get into the loft and tie the ball valve in the hot water header tank up you might be able to turn your house water back on, but now you’re into DIY-ing your way out of trouble.

Is @A_Touch_of_Cloth within earshot ?

I’d expect there to be a valve on the feed into the hot tank, probably near the tank. Just shut that off and the rising main cold still works. Kitchen electrics may be a bit dodgy though.
Hope you can get something sorted Ólan, a bummer of a thing to happen at any time, and especially now.

Use your house insurance. They will get everything sorted.

If you’ve got people over tomorrow it may be simplest to just take the emergency call out charges for a plumber on the chin.
