Worse than most
Cockpunch to the OH&S dept at my employers. I had a meeting today to get sign off on my return to work. I got an email this morning cancelling the meeting. They have to reschedule so I am stuck at home bored senseless until they pull their fingers out.
Fuck all delivered yesterday and says out for delivery but still nothing today. They werenât received at the DO today, you got them on monday you bunch of fucks.
And now the RM app chucked me out and wonât let me log back in. Looks to be an issue that has been going on for a few weeks according to reddit.
Come on royal mail youâre being very cunty at the moment.
I had a small parcel arrive (reasonably swiftly, to be fair) at Didcot DO on Thursday morning and theyâd have met their 48 hour target for it if theyâd delivered it in the next 6 or 7 hours. They didnât even try though. So on Friday morning I walked round and picked it up myself.
Didcot DOâs service counter is 240 metres on foot from my front door.
They arenât the only ones with delivery problems though. At 18:30 yesterday Dominoâs Pizza showed up at my door with a 12". I admit I was tempted, but I hadnât ordered it so I told the guy âNot meâ. He pointed to the first line of the address. The street and house number were correct. His second line was Sutton Courtenay though and I had to break it to him that thatâs a village about 5 miles away by pizza bike.
I have a veeery long missive associated with delivery of freight, but that is for another day.
This is life without music.
Due to main equipment being in transit and not set to arrive until the 3rd week of November, the only music we currently hear is shit commercial radio in the car, or from a laptop full of WAV files, or streaming, via the shit speakers on said laptop.
Music via shit speakers is worse than no music at all !
There must be some sort of hifi/lofi emporium with a stock of semi-active speakers somewhere close. We bought a pair of Edifier Bluetooth speakers for FOL-2 a couple of years ago and I was pleasantly surprised by the sound they produce - decent enough that theyâd still do a good job as a garage/shed/outdoor (protected from the elements) system when yours arrives
The Edifiers I owned, for a while, were perfectly liveable, ideal as a stop gap.
Certainly no shortage of bass for such a small speaker. Not to say theyâre unbalanced, but they certainly arenât lazy or woolly
Itâs about finding time. Yes, there are some decent products around but adding to the number of pieces I already have seems anathema.
I know, I know, âThen stop moaningâ.
Still, itâs the Abattoir!
Multinational organisations that are useless at basic VAT documents (not able to do the sort of thing that any car repair shop dealing with insurance could do) despite us in our group of schools literally telling them how to do their job.
Further what the fuck.
Where is the best place for Sainsburyâs to put a big display of peanuts? Why, next to their free from section of course.
I know - imagine putting all that horrible shit right next to the lovely nuts.
Bastards.
Perfectly compatible.
No gluten or dairy in nuts.
(Which is the majority of the free from range)
Serious question (well, not really, but). Why do the Free From fridges always have doors, while the normal food is in open chillers?
Preservatives?
In my nearest supermarket much of the regular stuff is in cabinets with doors too (yoghurts, ice cream, frozen fish come to mind but there are a couple of complete aisles of cabinets). In the summerâs hottest weather the open chillers quite often had âroller blindâ screens pulled down over them to try to keep the contents acceptably cool. At one point they closed a whole aisle of open chillers to give the fridges half an hour to get the temperature back down.
Why is having doors on chillers s problem?
Upgrade in my local Sainsbury recently has put loads of things in fridges with doors
Itâs not (OK, sometimes thoughtless other customers stand in front of the yoghurts door, stopping me from opening it, but they move pretty quickly when I get the crash axe out).
Horace said
and I said that in my Sainsburyâs some of it isnât. And Kev says so too. Thatâs all.
