The all-new shiny cockpunch thread (Part 2)

Fell off some ladders doing a spot of diy. About 8ft drop, although this height will increase with each week that passes.

Calcaneum fracture described as ‘nasty’ by the surgeon, which is basically their term for fucked apparently.

The level of care from the N.H.S. has been second to none mind. Xray Tuesday and CT scan booked for following morning. Phone call on Thurs for 11 am op on Fri.

Two weeks now after op and staples were out yesterday, 4 more weeks of no weight bearing, then 6 weeks of progressive weight and physio.

Interestingly, it is known as a twat’s fracture in orthopaedic circles, as it is usually the break of choice of the scrote running from the Feds.

Next time come back down the ladder when it’s ‘Special Bucket Time’ :poop:

On a lighter note, a bit of hair shaming by the plastercast dept…

What colour would you like? We can give you one to match your hair?

Cheeky fuckers.

I went on an H&S course at work many years ago which was given by an HSE inspector. Over lunch he got onto the subject of DIY fatalities. Back then there were about 100 a year in the UK. 70 of those involved ladders (strictly speaking ‘access equipment’ but in practice almost always a ladder). About 15 were down to abdomen or thorax stabs with sharp handtools - mostly people slipping with a chisel which they were holding in both hands and using to shave/gouge wood while pointing the chisel towards themselves. The remaining 15 deaths covered everything else.

Exec summary: Nothing in DIY is nearly as dangerous as a ladder or a misused chisel.

Sympathies for the hurt, but glad it wasn’t worse.

At least it’s only one leg

Luckily, but the other ankle is badly sprained so…wheelchair for another fortnight!

Thankfully I have an accident prone friend that lent me her chair.

Hopefully she won’t need it for the next couple of weeks!!

It will probably take longer to recover from the sprain, then. Take it steady!

This is true, when the idiots think they have wings and will be fine jumping out the second floor window…
Very annoying as it’s usually the wanted by court or recall people, which means we can’t leave them to recover before nicking again. So end up sat with them at hospital for 2-3 days before sending them to court or prison.

Good riddance to Roon.

Bought a 1yr subscription this time last year and 6 months ago had an issue so when I tried to raise a ticket on the forum my account was blocked as I was barred by the CEO or cunt in chief Danny (after challenging his fucking stupid claim that opening UPnP posed no security risk at all)

This happened once before so I was hoping that a 1 yr sub with a different username would be different.

Nope, well take your money and then flatly refuse to provide support via the forum or email.

Today my 1yr sub ended so fuck you ROON and good fucking riddance

PS I’ve actually been using Innuos for the last 6 months since roon balked and I haven’t missed it (much)

So you got burned and went back for more?

Give yourself one while you’re swinging

Punch in the cock for AI agents answering phone lines.

I phoned because I want to talk to a human to see if there is any wiggle room on what is bookable online. I don’t want you to look up exactly what I can look up.

‘Getting past the AI’ is a modern life skill. There should be courses on it.

I don’t know which is worse, these or the phone systems that send you round and round through options menus - banks seem to be the worst for this.

And in a reverse of the poacher turned gamekeeper idiom they could be facilitated by GP receptionists.

I mailed them and of course a very helpful human lady had no problem in creating a custom reservation for seven (instead of the theoretical maximum of six).

Fuck you robot-chops.

Wish-it-was-two-factor authentication can have one.

Twice in the last few days I’ve had people ask for a password and then mail me a code. That doesn’t prove that I know something and have something, it proves that I know two things.

The most egregious example was where I followed a link in an email on my phone (because I was trying to load tickets into the phone wallet app), hit the login, entered my password, it emails you a code, you have to go back into your mail to get the code, and you’ve lost the context of having entered your password. Congrats cockwombles, you’ve actually made this impossible to do

Get an iPhone  it automatically reads the code from email/SMS and enters it for you without having to switch apps or even leave the login page
