That looks like a painting.

Amazing they still had Meteors in service when that first flew!

Parham airfield museum (originally RAF Framlingham)

Well worth a look if you’re in Suffolk, it was a B-17 base and only operational for about 3 years. They have masses of photos and relics including B-17 and other aircraft engines. We only had 40 minutes before it closed but it deserves a few hours really.

And free… (donations)

Visual Bomb Aiming Position.

The navigator-plotter of a Victor at RAF Cottesmore, seen in position through the window of the visual bomb aiming position, June 1959. Each of the three V-bombers had a visual bombing position that gave the bomb aimer an optically flat view of the ground below. This allowed, in clear weather, more accurate visual targeting, even at altitudes of over 50,000ft.

That was the first of many Airfix models I mangled as a child. Only decent one I did was an Air France (cheap) 747.

How to operate a Blackburn Buccaneer, low level strike aircraft: “Open throttle, reach take off speed, raise undercarriage, go to full throttle, descend to operating altitude.”

May be prudent to add a 3rd step of “take off”

That’s covered by the raising the undercarriage bit.

Fantastic display in that hangar, and I love the perspective you get on scale, where the F4 (not a small aircraft) is almost tucked under the BUFF’s nose
