We have been in Wales over the weekend and the owner of the place we are staying has an i-Pace that I have been admiring. Was chatting to them about thier experience with it and they love it. At the price you can buy them for now (used) they appear quite a tempting proposition. What do you think Dan? Go for it or avoid? Bit concerned that they are stopping production. The other concern is the size of the bloody things but I have always liked the looks and interior.

Itâs a great car in many ways Nick. A buddy was in it last weekend for the first time and after the ride opined it was the best car heâd been in on the basis of comfort, lack of noise and the overtaking ability.
Downsides are range, time it takes to charge on a fast charger and potentially difficult to repair when things go wrong. 200-220 in the winter, 250+ in the summer is good but if youâre to run it on a long journeys youâre looking at over an hour to input some decent range. 45k miles and no noticeable range change on ours, the designer claims that theyâd not expect to see any battery degradation for at least eight years, the battery management is quite different to the likes of Tesla. Itâs not pushed to the limit. Also must, must include a warranty and option to extend. We had a couple of issues early doors, dealers are useless but Jaguar Assist are excellent and obviate the need for the dealer if thereâs an issue. Very expensive and hard to find anyone whoâll repair in any sort of reasonable time frame without the warranty.
We use it to get to all the girls sporting fixtures and as a run around, itâs perfect for that. Do what you need to do and plug in at home, set to go the next morning, perfect and cheap to charge overnight. Iâve only charged a couple of times out on the road, planned that and it was no problem.
I donât really notice the size, lotâs of driver aides, the surround cameras are great and despite living in an area with lots of narrow country lanes itâs not been a problem. Mrs didnât drive it for over a year, suspect for that reason but now she is driving it she loves it.
Iâve recently had a 5 series BMW and Audi A3 as rentals and both were dogs by comparison. Stupid amount of buttons, didnât find the electronic packages intuitive and they were both slow, poor handling and noisy. All pretty straightforward and way better handling in the Jag. Donât doubt the former have some decent offerings now but only the Teslaâs really offer the real world range you want at a decent price and the infrastructure to back it. Theyâre not without their own niggles and I donât buy into the companies culture so theyâre not for me.
If the range isnât an issue and you can get one with a warranty Iâd definitely recommend.

Oh yes, the sound of the sound system is good but the interface and USB controls suck massively. FaT32 format only and it puts tracks in a random order if you try to play all.

Most longer-term tesla owners are aware of power sharing limitations on V2 chargers. Issue went away with V3/V4 though.
Gridserve is on form again, sat at a constant 29-30kW for 15 mins on a nominal 50kW charger with nobody else attached.

You ring an installer and he comes and fits it. Blokes on here tell you which one to buy. Itâs not organising an invasion or anything.
Just had an EV charger installed, took minutes to get a quote via an online questionnaire and photo capture process, and 2 weeks later it took 3 blokes about half a day to install, setup and test. the house was without power for less than 10 mins.
Switched to Octopus Intelligent Go, and all leccy for 6 hours overnight is 7.5p/kWh, so set car to charge during that window

It might depend whether the places you go to with work have chargers. Presumably if you are driving 300 miles then you would have a reasonable amount of time at where you are going to justify it.
