The Mince Pie Thread

My mother keeps a marble rolling pin in the fridge when she is rolling out pastry and tries hard not to handle it. She also chills the metal bowl of her mixing machine.

My marble pastry board got broken

Is Santa bringing a new one?

No, :santa:

Unlikely, it “got in the way”. I always wondered if the breakage was an accident…

Mine found it’s way under a TT. Narelle didn’t miss it :last_quarter_moon_with_face:

Back to the mundanity of shop pies, I’ll be cracking these open later.

Warm through needed,

Just had a cold one. Mega disappointed.

I put mine in for 8 mins @180, browned a little , then burnt the roof of my grid first bite…

They are ok

Made it back to Charlie’s, my first independent café. They had no mince pies last time I was here, but now they have.

Epic, despite the over dusting. Real spice, zing and booze, and buttery pastry. Best of the year.

I’ll be back.

No reviews without pricing please :face_with_monocle:

6lbs = 4 really well-stuffed batches of pies (2 dozen each time) :yum::yum::yum:

… and you can control how much brandy (calvados, anyone?) goes in :grinning:

Never trust a pie that has ‘OD’d’ they are hidden, egotistical blighters full of trickery and image.

:flushed: Fuck me that’s 96 pies - you’ll never eat all of them - best send some here!

£8.10 for flat white, pie, tea and some chocolate and orange shortbread thing. I’m guessing £2 for the pie. Worth it.

Now the bloody place has run out of them :triumph:
