The Reading Room

I thought there was a law against sending that sort of thing through the post.

It’s ok it came by courier in an anonymous brown parcel.

Been waiting 4 years for Part Five!

Picked this book up at the Capel Battle of Britain museum earlier

It looks like this is now sold out.

They (The Modernist Society) only ever do micro-runs of stuff that they print. Anyway, it’s a history of the double-arrow logo.

Today I have been mostly not reading this.

Still way overpriced for the content & they daren’t pitch it as a BoGoF along with Boris Johnson’s most recent scribblings despite how unpopular that one is. I feel for bookshops stuck with surplus of either. They probably aren’t even allowed to make good use by putting them in a furnace. Tough times.

Collection of condensed newspaper reports from late 19c France. FF’s antiauthoritarian insouciance as described in the intro indicates a proto meatman, perhaps.

Really enjoyed this, some great writing, hard characters and at times quite amazing.
