‘Reading’ is going to be stretching a point a little, but just ordered this for a good gawp:
A very small subsection of my library; “Books with Duke Ellington on the cover that are not primarily about Duke Ellington”.
Just started this, which was recommended by someone on here on some thread or another some time ago.
I enjoyed the tv show. What a shite cover though, that would put me off from reading it.
Luckily, using a kindle I only see it when ordering!
Rereading this at the moment. Ancient dgeared copy. Essentially an epistolary novel between spaceships.
I loved his books when I was younger and have most of them on my shelf still. I’m slightly weary of re-reading them though as I fear I won’t find them so good now and it’ll tarnish my fond memories.
I re-read all the Iain M Banks, then all the Iain Banks, books after he passed a few years ago, thoroughly enjoyed them all second time through
Will give them another go at some point. His spaceship names were great. I think I saved a list of them somewhere once as they’re amusing just to read through.
Any interesting / real insights Nick ? I guess I’m asking, worth reading ?
I have only just started it Mike so I will let you know.
