The secret diary of Elon Musk and other fuckery

One of Musk’s huge gripes before he baited himself into buying Twitter was that the user numbers were being skewed by masses of bots.

Now, literally every post I make is liked by some random pornbot seconds after I post it.

Yeah but the bots he didn’t like were doing things like pointing out how many flights his private jet made and automated storm warnings. These bots are betterer.

LOL, Trump is touting his fake view numbers for his interview on X. He doesn’t understand views doesn’t mean viewers

Acceptance is often hard to swallow but that place is done.

Now I understand where the X comes from…

I realise it may be a Pré-production unit, but fucking hell!

Rather like his fixation with ‘X’ as a brand name / mark, the design of this truck looks equally 80’s it’s almost like Elon’s lost in some Buck Rodgers edit loop.

I never really believed it existed. I still don’t. A more Rong™ design is hard to conceive - it’s a haemarrhoid-like cluster of everything that’s bloody awkward about a variety of other vehicles, from Ram to Lamborghini via Land Rover, all bought together into one overpriced ego-trip.

And I like pickups.

If only they had sought out a decent body engineer to look at the clay from the outset and suggest a number of feasible design alternatives for every single closure that work to real world different tolerance levels and build that into the design.

Yeah the ponytailed clay monkeys would have wailed but been there and done that, its cheaper to hire new ones that live with the huge life cycle costs of some of their hair brained decisions. Instead they look like they’ve chosen the most difficult to execute bodyskin structure with the least favourable choice at every single join - because reasons etc.

Once you’ve tooled up then you’re pretty much fucked because your only options a. look shit; b. also cost money to still look shit (he French typically resort to plastic finishers when they get into production when they realise that they’ve ballsed it up again) and usually you end up having to rescope all the gap and profile targets and tolerance levels to go for consistency over and above tightness of finish.

All of the choices which look better and are cheaper to implement could have been made 5 years ago or whenever the concepts were being signed off.

Musk: ‘But muh battery technology…’

Part of me thinks Tesla should just be an OEM drivetrain manufacturer and let people do coachbuilding over the top of it.

When the company fails and is broken-up and sold-off, this is what will happen :+1:

Pretty much what I’ve been saying right from when he produced that first roadster in 2007/8. No idea why you’d want to tie up so much capital and risk in building cars. He could have just licensed the battery tech out to existing OEMs and made a lot more money in the process.

But with massive ego comes massive vanity.
