In the very long term perhaps. But while they’re a near-monopoly ‘nobody’ has much choice.
I was very careful to say “Personally” because it does matter to me. And it ought to matter at least a tiny bit to Amazon. I go a long way out of my way not to buy anything from them. Worse than that, I use their website for the things it can help me with and then I spend my money somewhere else. It’s probably five years (maybe more, actually) since I last bought anything at all from Amazon.
Think I’m actually getting outrage fatigue. As much as I like to laugh about conniption, it’s about as healthy as Pâté.
The outrage covers a deeply felt frustration (and insecurity) namely the powerlessness of acknowledging there is so very little on a personal level an individual can do legally about this thunderdick other than boycott and watch things unfold.
I’ve always thought sticking my head in the sand was dumb, weak even but it’s starting to seem preferable to digesting his barrage of shyte and comprehending what Gobels Musk is eluding to / standing for and mass marketing.
Besides a retreat to the mind garden is long overdue
Yes, but Farage has been talking about democratising it, giving members votes etc.
He probably does need to do this especially as he has talked about following the LibDem example of contesting council seats, and recruiting a local base of canvassers. members etc…
If he wants to turn Reform into a serious party he will have to restructure it.
Although I am not sure that Farage really wants the responsibility of leading a properly structured party with a set of rules and a proper manifesto. He prefers the lone wolf underdog scenario where he is responsible to no one.
Hopefully Musk gets him kicked out before he organises.
Way ahead of you, I try to avoid news sources and threads like this on social media nowadays.
I’m old and I’m tired of being in a constant bloodthirsty perma-rage at all of humanity’s awful, awful shitness.
I won’t be here when it happens, and I’m sad about all of the good-ones-collateral-damage, but the inevitable extinction of Homo sapiens cannot come too soon.
I hope the planet’s ecosystem survives.
I have no social media accounts, binned faecesbook in 2014 and the last ones kicked the bucket last year when I cancelled twitter and linkedin. All I look at now is the beeb and guardian websites and occasionally sky news.
Ignorance (from all that targeted right wing nutter shite) is bliss.
When I need a laugh I just have a quick read on pfm for the usual lefty virtue signalling outrage.
