The shit that does merit its own thread

Sure they’re a he ? (Hard to tell, I accept, when they’re that young.)

Cutest thing on the internet today.

Why the fuck are yanks doing fireworks on 5th Nov

Ah video on youtube is from September, probably celebrating something for Trump

Last night my nephew did fireworks. One hit a dude in the chest, charring his coat. I have a bruise on my head from where one hit me. His girlfriend was hit in the ear, possibly by the same one that got me.

But the best way the last one, which was a rocket that had a broken stick. It failed to take off, and looped behind the fence to the neighbour’s house, and exploded at their door. They weren’t very pleased. Had it gone the other way, towards us, it could really have been bad news.

I love fireworks, but they really should only be used by professionals.

Had one through one pain of the front sash window just before midnight. Kids were firing them horizontally at windows and cars just before midnight . Appeared to be some kind of two foot long roman candle which they were holding when letting them off. Found a .75 inch by 2 inch shot between the broken window and the secondary glazing.

I love them too. We went to the town display on Friday night, which was great, and very well attended. I do keep an eye out for trouble though. Once, a few years back, one of the big starburst shells left its mortar going far too slowly and, given the wind direction, exploded low over the crowd. Bits of still-burning stuff fell on people. I don’t think anyone was significantly hurt, but I was glad of my specs, just in case anything had come my way. Decent fireworks used with any sense at all are pretty safe. In all my years as a child, when my more-or-less pissed uncles let them off in one of their back gardens, I don’t recall any of them coming near any of us. They weren’t as big as some of the ones nowadays though, and I don’t think you could buy them straight from the factory rejects heap via a white van in a pub carpark.

Yeah some of the ones we had were fucking massive. Nephew know a bloke who imports fireworks; he only works for a couple of weeks a year, makes £250k and takes the rest of the year off.

The box we had apparently would cost £750, had rockets with sticks over 1cm thick and was only to be sold to professionals.

Shit; hope nobody was seriously hurt; I was hit by a firework at a household party. Charred leather jacket and ringing ears.

Was more than slightly panicking as I had only recently been discharged from hospital having been badly burned…

I haven’t been to a household display since. We do fuck about with fireworks on my friend’s land, however one is a safe distance as it is a a big field.

In London at about this time, lots of warning calls go out about people aiming fireworks at buses and setting fireworks off inside buses.

I’ve experienced the former; was a relatively new driver and from nowhere came a purple flash and loud bang as it hit the fucking bus.

Luckily no damage, but if it had popped a window…

Buses do not take long to go up in flames!

I’ve removed that video - at least one of the children died as a result of that accident.

Bloody hell

Yeah - not obvious from the video, but makes me uncomfortable having it on here.

It was my birthday a couple of days ago.

This is my wife’s sense of humour.

No, no resemblance at all.
