William Shatner going through a post Star Trek dry spell making a 1970s Canadian commercial . . .
I’m guessing the likelihood of Floyd reuniting is low then
That’s some album title.
Considering that Richard Wright died over 14 years ago you are probably correct.
I didn’t realise they’d fallen out, or that Rodger W was all those things…
One of the longest and vitriolic spats in Rock History.
They have been at each others throats for 40 years
Once again, prog takes 5 minutes to say what would take punk 4 letters.
For those that aren’t aware, Polly Samson is David Gilmour’s wife
Wonder what triggered this all off. I thought they hadn’t spoken for years. Weird.
Waters has been soiling himself in public about Ukraine.
Fair enough. I’ve missed all that as (i) I don’t have a Twittter account and (ii) wouldn’t follow either of the old fossils if I did.
Is this the proggiest argument ever given that it is running for 40 odd years, isn’t finished yet and appears tone deaf to the casual observer?
And if we’re being properly pedantic and thus considering the only version of PF worth a toss - Syd’s been under the turf 17 years now ![]()
I hadn’t realised the full extent of Waters’ cuntiness, acid-casualty-ness can take many forms it seems…
Interesting, thanks…
I was similarly in the dark about the Ukraine and Israel statements. Tasteless, to say the very least.
There’s an incredible amount of pro-Russia/antisemitic/neo-Nazi fake-news shilling going-on in all the grime-encrusted less-moderated corners of the internet, and a lot of damaged and simple-minded morons being sucked in by it.
There is an almost addictive draw to ‘alternative’ realities as portrayed by shillbots, flat-Earthers, conspirowonks and tin-foil-hatters - and drug damaged minds seem especially vulnerable to it, perhaps unsurprisingly.
Needs contentious one-legged flutery
40 odd years is just the intro. There is a while to go yet.
True, although how much of Roger Waters’ confusion is drug damage and how much is just the way he’s always been is unclear. I was staggered (and, I have to say, overjoyed) that they managed to hold it together for the run-up rehearsals and the 20 minutes on stage at Live 8.
Not sure it is drug damage, his neurosis shines through the Wall and the Final Cut.
Never got on with any of his solo albums
Interesting that after The Live 8 reunion they were offered $150 Million to do a re-united US tour, but found 20 minutes was about as much as they could abide being on the same stage!
