Pass the salt?
Once in a while on one of those rare English summer evenings when the moon is bright and the sky is clear, the woodland glade will become a fairytale space for people to gather. There will be food and fellowship under the trees, the telling of tales and the sound of the harp,” she added.
And she was doing so well.
At least it wasn’t the accordion, banjo or bagpipes!
Agreed and you could add flute to that list.
I take you skip all the Alice Coltrane tracks where she plays her harp
I’m pretty sure it won’t be Alice Coltrane playing the harp in the woods. I suspect it will be more folky than jazzy.
Harp music on Radio 3 as I type…
Gonna be reaching for some Alan Stivell soon…
You never know !
Euphemism for Dignitas detected.
Do not dis the Stiv!
OMG OMG OMG the Oyster app is fixed (after the hack earlier in the year).
No more “what the heck did I spend?” roulette.
Looks like @Valvebloke will be busy for a while….
Good to see the 30 year cycle in play.

The Leyland National caught my eye, tbh…
I managed the Palaeo Dept’s part of the Natural History Museum’s outstation move from the old airfield at Ruislip to the current Wandsworth/Southfields site at the arse-end of the 1990s. At least that was still in London. They’ll be moving to a greenfield site near Reading soon, and not a single person left who knows how to manage a move like it…
It’s been a lifelong source of frustration that institutions like this can ALWAYS find money for high-profile vanity projects and white-elephants, but there’s never any money for actual staff to be employed to study, manage and curate it all…
Opportunity for a freelance jobbie?
Not an icecube-in-hell’s chance. They’ll be looking to make job cuts, and certainly won’t want anyone around that has even a vestigial clue what they’re doing - that’d risk showing-up the cretins who’ll be taking credit for it all once the press shows-up…
A close friend at the NHM resigned over this exact project 18 months ago - she was probaby the most conscientious, experienced and hard-working person left there, and she could see what was coming and didn’t want to sacrifice her health futilely battling arts-grad morons on 5-times her salary. I’d probably have done the same…
Is that the Northolt base or somewhere else?
