The shit that does merit its own thread

I don’t know about other areas of employment but Thursday has always been Friday in the City.

You go out on the piss on Thursday night, then leave London on Friday night :man_shrugging:

20 years out-of-date, but it used to be a uniquely City thing - iirc some of the pubs in the area didn’t even open Friday evenings, and the rest were all shut by 8!

When I was in S.Ken, every night was pissup night - or so I thought, took me a few years to simply accept that me and all my chums were just alcoholics…

Afterwork drinks are not really a thing any more I understand. Probaby for the best

I was out around Liverpool Street one Saturday evening last year and I was amazed at how busy it was.

I think it’s basically backwash from Shoreditch.

These are, indeed, Trying Times in which we live! :joy:

Our footfall has changed since people started WFH. Thursday now is far busier during the evening than Friday ever was. So not just a City thing anymore.
Makes a mockery of the “need” for Night Tube

Used to go out with a girl who worked in the city at the height of yuppies in the mid 80s. Felt weird that it turned into a ghost town after 8pm on a Friday night

tranquiliser dart?

No context was offered, but I assume so.

Not AI anyway, and I don’t think he was crowdsurfing. Although that would have been cool.

Can’t see him/her jumping down voluntarily.

Aha.

Given that he’s too blurry to stay in the tree but maybe not completely unconscious I think I’d have wanted a very great deal more protective kit on than the guys who are holding the tarp (airbag ?). He looks at least as big as the officer in the foreground.

Guys. It’s a funny picture of a bear in mid-air.

Yup, for all we know (knew) he’s not tranked at all. He’s just out on his stag do and his mates from the zoo are bouncing him up and down for a laugh .

Surely it’s his mates from the farm…

Never underestimate some people’s capability for overthinking it
