I’m sure she’ll mop up her tears on bundles of £50s that were freshly starched and ironed by a serf.
Have to say I thought £12m was a little low. I’m sure she could have extracted more than that.
So much for her lawyer’s explicit direction that she wasn’t interested in a pay out and just wanted this to go to court so the truth could come out.
All a bit of a pathetic lie.
I met him briefly a couple of times in my early career and his monstrous arrogance / self-love was very evident, whereas the sense of duty and respect for others that his brother was liked and valued for was not.
I can buy some of that coming from his upbringing, yet not being the first in line, but he had quite enough exposure to real people along the way to understand his place in the world.
I too would be delighted if he was facing criminal charges over his actions 
At least he won’t be keeping much if any of the proceeds from the chalet

I knew a young lady who was in employment at the Palace some years ago, her impression of him reflect yours exactly. Not a nice person and so far up his own backside it’s a wonder he ever saw daylight.

Rather than being a pathetic lie its worked out to be an effective strategy as I imagine the settlement was much closer to the figure that might have been awarded in court but without the risk.
Remember right at the beginning of this she had disappeared out of the limelight to try to live a quiet life, this whole circus came looking for her. Other victims of Epstein and Maxwell have applauded her for her bravery and standing up to privilege and winning…

Why? It was her decision in the late 70s to expand the royal family to include a much wider number of them and then seek what was effectively A list celeb status. Risk families across Europe did the exact opposite.

The children of the Queen had exactly the same exposure as she and her sister had.
Princess Margaret hardly kept out of the papers and was a cause celeb in her own right with the Group Captain Townsend affair

She made out this was about the truth and getting the facts out there. Her lawyers kept repeating it was about a day in court and the world finding out.
Ends up she was just about the money.

I don’t read it like that. She said that she wanted to show that wealth and privilege does not mean that you’re above justice, and with the damage Nonce Andrew has done to himself all the way through this right up to having to settle, I think she has achieved what she set out to do, quite apart from just money.
Do you not think she has struck a powerful blow for victims of Epstein and sex trafficking in general by forcing someone as privileged and connected as Andrew to have to settle out of court to avoid the truth of his behaviour, not hers, coming out?
It is always about the money, why shouldn’t it be? And why are you in the least bit suprised?
Rightious indignation and a fake aplogy doesn’t pay any bills and doesn’t hit the perpetrator where it hurts.
The only alternative to a paid settlement (from the victims pov) is a criminal case and potentially prison.
The potential shit for Prince Andrew isn’t over by the way. The FBI still want to talk to him about the Epstein case, the same FBI that he said two years ago that he would fully cooperate with but hasn’t engaged at all…

Who gives a fuck what she said it was about, she fucked him over and all the shit about him has been brought to public attention now. It was a tactical play and worked for her legal team.
