Anyone know how the emissions tax works in the north south circular
If you are inside it for a week,but only use the car to enter and leave the zone,do you have to pay for every day,or just the 2 days you drive in it?
I believe it is only charged when picked up by the cameras. So if it is parked you should be okay.

Yeah, if you drive it within the zone you’ll need to pay. Parked should be fine afaik.

Go to TfL.gov.uk. where it says :
The charges only need to be paid if you drive your vehicle within the zone. Parked vehicles are not subject to any charges.

Officially you’re fine if it is parked but I know quite a few people who have received fines when their car is parked. Keep any permits or parking stubs as evidence to prove it wasn’t in use to contest any fine that may appear in the post.

If you get a congestion charge fine ask for a copy of the photo as evidence.
Capita look after the system and never used to have enough storage or bandwidth to archive the footage out of the London camera system so around 60% of the photos and videos were lost after a short while.
May all be sorted now but still worth a punt.
