I bought my first Classe 10 from Effem and went to Cornwall to collect it.
User211 - Justin - lives in Portishead and has the Apogees described.
Jim & I went to his bakeoff at Portishead. I thought Portished was just the name of a group up until then.
There was a guy demoing some DIY or upgraded speakers he’d built that sounded awful. His speakers put me off ribbon tweeters for years to come.
User211 became a social hand grenade not long after that.

I think he was genuine, FWLIW, but damaged. In the way that US military training + actually getting shot-at does to people. Plus, being North-Carolinian of course.

I’ve spoken to him on and off in the last few years. Seems reasonably happy maintaining a low key kind of existence, playing music and writing.
