The usual 11 hour round trip to watch the mother sleep for a few minutes.
It sounds and looks like this won’t be going on for much longer.

You have my sympathy. Had a similar scenario with my mum two years ago, although our round journey was only 7 hours. The end was relatively quick and peaceful for her, thank God. My thoughts are with you.
