At a play village with KettleJnr, including slightly randomly this background.
they are expensive , you need to be flush to repair them !
If it is any help to you… the only time I have EVER repaired one of these bastard things it turns out it was the capacitor that starts it needed replaced.
You have my thoughts and prayers.
you be talking shit again
Foo up the poo and throw a couple of Audio Note caps in.
I did that last time. The motor starts ok once the switch is activated. There is a membrane at the bottom which is moved when the loo is flushed & water, poo & paper enter the tank. The blade spins turning it to slurry & an impellor at the other end pumps it away in liquid form. But the mechanism that takes the movement of the membrane to operate the switch is a bit flaky in operation & I guess it’s that that prevents the motor from being activated. I’m annoyed because we called in the local Saniflo specialist who wants to charge us £70 to tell us it’s fecked(he didn’t even bother to look inside it) and another £400 to install a new one. We don’t need a new one. But I’ll bet most people just hand over the dosh.
Sorry to hear this and thoughts are with you: it’s to come for me too as my mum has the same.
Sorry to hear that Ben
To be honest I reckon industry standard is just to replace them.
Goes for many things nowadays.
Unfortunately very true, still worth recapping it with gold tho… maybe subcontract out to @coco ?
Thanks mate: it’s miserable seeing someone slip away day by day.
I am very sorry to read this Ben. It is a very difficult thing to go through. I hope that the whole process is not to long drawn out for your Mum, It really is a horrible disease.
If the Saniflo is jammed/blocked but otherwise ok, you can try taking off the lid and filling it with drain cleaner. After an hour or two all of the organic material will disolve and it might begin to function ok again. Saves having to get your hands dirty.
So sorry to hear this Ben, I spent 22 hours in nursing home yesterday and it’s incredibly hard, actually got earache from death rattle last night !!!
I’ve already cleared it but, as an aside, you can’t put normal bleach or drain cleaner through one. It would destroy it.
Cheers Olan and Phil; in many ways I feel fortunate as my Dad is still reasonably fit and compos mentis and I have two sisters who are supportive. My parents are also financially OK, so we can plan the last phase without the stress of financial worry which Is a blessing.
My mum is also not overly unhappy or distressed; she appreciates her condition and finds it frustrating and isolating more than depressing and she still has a sense of humour.
One thing that has become apparent to me is that as a society we all need to plan for and consider end-of-life much more than we do. Denial isn’t helpful.
A quiet word with ozzyozzy should secure you a few bottles.
Up to bake this cheesecake and compote.
Off to a country park walking then round to some friends for a Sunday roast
