Cheers guys. It’s a bit weird, your parents becoming frailer. As strokes go it doesn’t seem too bad, the consultant says it’s something she should be able to make a good recovery from. Scary though.

My mum had a fall on Friday or Saturday morning. She lives on her own and has dementia and was only found late on Saturday afternoon. She forgot it was her sisters funeral yesterday which she would have been too poorly to attend anyway Now in hospital and very frail, currently cannot stand or cut up her own food.
Old age is a shitty thing but better than being taken far too early.

A common theme here. My mum has had 2 falls in the last 9 months, resulting in a broken hip and then a fractured pelvis. Her brother died a few weeks ago but due to her Alzheimer’s we just haven’t told her. She asked my brother recently whether my dad was still alive, he died 16 years ago. All very sad.
We just wait for the next phone call and crisis. Old age, what a fucker.

Went through the whole incredibly sad dementia thing with my mum and now going through it with Sarah’s mum.
A heart felt size 12 to the bits of old age I say.
