Foghorn Leghorn boy
Eh? I was in Lisbon. I think one of us is having a ‘Dad moment’. Having said that, I like Stockholm but it is feckin’ expensive. The other night we ate in a no frills restaurant near the Rato metro station in Lisbon. I had whole Bream barbecued with steamed vegtables and spuds, Joe had Calamari, we had a 1/2 litre of perfectly acceptable wine (I had a tiny drop) and expressos. The total bill was 25 Euro including the tip (a large one as we felt guilty at the 17.45 euro bill we were originally presented with). The biggest restaurant bill was 45 Euro which included a bottle of very nice wine for Joe (I had a drop to be sociable).
I did have a large glass of green wine though. I like green wine.
I hate being unable to drink, especially when it is so cheap and of such high quality.
I think you’ll find it’s called Absinthe ![]()
The worst alcohol related headache I had was from absinthe. I was sleeping on the floor of my brother-in-laws apartment when his DIY shelves collapsed and I was woken by a full bottle of absinthe landing on my head.
Green wine is a lightly sparkling white wine with a vague greenish tinge. It is very dry and served ice cold. Very refreshing.
No it fucking wasn’t. Jokes are funny. You need to work on the timing or something ![]()
You should lay off the green wine
It makes you even grumpier than normal
Meh-feckin’-eh!!
Vinho Verde is delicious…we love Portugal, so long as you stay away from the wanker golfists, I have always thought Portugal (especially its cities) was a bit of an underappreciated secret for a holiday.
Dy’a think a metronome would help? ![]()

Having a long discussion with one daughter about debt and lifestyle. She was bailed out to the tune of £20K+ last year and was just warned that it won’t happen again.
She now has the shittest of shit credit rating and needs to rebuild it, which hopefully she is now doing.
Not with Bank of Dad though, eh Bob…![]()
Yesterday was FOL #3 u11 cup final, followed by end if season party, followed by hours of drinking in the pub reviewing the season.
Far too trollied to report at the time, just about ok now after hangover defeating 12km run.
FOL #2 birthday family drinking session starts in 90 mins. Off we go again
