I think that PAG sold everything to Horace, so yeah seems right.
I liked them at Settle, despite them not being partnered well. I donāt know why we didnāt use them with the Gershmans for longer.
Not sure. I do recall Si (PAG) having them about 10 years ago. SET 6C33 iirc
They were PAGās, I think he sold most of his system as a job lot to Scotch Brian (including Io etc) who then broke it up and sold it all on.
Whatevās. They might be well used and in possession of a bit of a chequered ownership history, but they are fecking marvelous with a bit of Bill Evans and Jim Hall.

Yep - Brian bought it all from PAG and I bought the amps from Brian, before passing them on to Olan in a deal for his Gato Dia-250 (which I still use). The valve amps in question replaced a pair of Audio Innovations 2nd Audios, and were very much in the same league IMHO.
I love tube amps, but am not so keen on the cost of long term ownership. Pretty much every valve amp I have owned has gone wrong - and when valve amps go wrong, they tend to do it with rather more gusto than their solid state equivalents (IME).
Iād love to hear Olanās amps driving my Zu Definitionsā¦

I still drop in from time to time, but am just emerging from a period of not being at all interested in hifi. Iāve just gone Amazon Basics with my cables, for example. I swear that nobody would knowā¦
Of course, one might legitimately ask why being bored with hifi would interfere in any way with oneās involvement with this place. I have no answer to that, but will try to hang about here more often as I miss the banter.

Good to hear from you. Glad to know that the Gato hasnāt exploded yet. By some margin that is the best integrated amplifier Iāve ever owned. I nearly bought another (with the streamer module) recently. Need to finish work on the kitchen to have somewhere to put it first.

The Gato did blow up (sort of), but the awfully nice folks at Gato sent me a brand new one, free of charge, which is pretty fucking awesome of them really.
Amazon Music has just gone HD, which is nice.

Amazon are indeed a bunch of cunts, but the service is very good. I acknowledge that equally good products from other multi-national cunts are also available. My moral compass is gyrating uncontrollably at this point.
My next media provider will defo have be into recycling in a big way.

Iāve managed not to delve into Amazon streaming because of capitalist racketeering cunt reasons but the force is strong.
True - and made a little stronger by being cheaper than Tidal, especially if you want the family subscription option.
Edit: Iām not worried that the likes of Amazon and Spotify will see Adele sleeping on the streets, but I do wonder how new acts make a living in the brave new world of media streaming subscriptions.
My kids have never bought an album - ever, but have access to more music than I ever did at their age. Is that progress? Yes, and no.
I think most musicians have other non-musical jobs.

Not Amazon but plenty on here use bog standard ofc copper cables.
My speaker cables cost me about Ā£20 and interconnects about Ā£10 each.
There is nothing āhifiā about cables, just marketing bullshit
