FML !

How is your Mum today @Rob998? I hope that there has been some progress in getting medical attention.

Thanks for asking Ólan.

Ambulance finally rocked up at 12:30 in the morning, the crew were disgusted that it took so long apparently.

But once she got to hospital things moved quickly and she was straight into X-ray and she’s got a broken wrist, now reset and in a cast. she’s in Whiston for a few days and they’re arranging some home help for her for the next few months while she heals up.

So it seems she won’t have to come and stay with us after all. We’re devastated, naturally.

That is great news. From sad experience with my Mum, a broken wrist is a great result when an elderly lady has a fall. A hip or a knee would be very difficult to deal with at the moment.

Yeah, it was shitty luck, if she’d fell the other way she’d have landed on her bed.

But a wrist is about as good a result as we could have hoped for.

Indeed, a fall and a broken hip was the start of long sad demise for my Mum.
She never recovered from it mentally or physically.

Hopefully your Mum will keep her spirits up, accept the help she needs and make a good recovery Rob

Ditto for mine which is what caused me to ask @Rob998 how his Mum was.

She has had both hip joints replaced already, and doubt she could take it again at 89.

She really needs at least one ankle replacement but it’s not going to happen now.

Actually she’s just phoned Claire. She didn’t ring me because she needs us to bring her some knickers and other women’s stuff

My mum too, sadly.

Went into hospital, caught Pneumonia and didn’t leave alive

Seems to be an extremely common outcome.

My Mum has just started emoji shaming me. FML !

By describing your taste in music as :musical_keyboard: :ramen: ?

No. She likes (some) of my music.
Apparently my choice of emoji for a joke she sent me wasn’t the one she wanted. I didn’t find it funny so sent a  This wasn’t good enough as she expected

She’s now not speaking to me. Oh well :unamused:

You’re the disappointment child aren’t you? What did you expect?

You’ll never get it right. Like that Greek girl at St Martins College.
