Yes I had the same thought. However in Wyre Forest the hunt is only allowed on private land which is outside of the scope of the council’s PSPO affecting public spaces.
Yes it is a Zoom meeting and as usual on all video calls I will be flanked by Saffron and Redford
Good luck with this though - local councils are the worst, most feckless collection of incompetent, self-serving cretins I have ever had the misfortune to encounter (and I have both NHS and Civil Service under my belt). Sam’s on the parish, I could not get involved as I would have stabbed a LOT of people by now; luckily she’s far more patient… She can bend £multi-million businesses to her will - but a parish council? Not an iota of progress of any kind in two years…
Its simple, the rules (technically) in this case simply do not apply to them so they are not interested, I’ve asked them.
That’s my experience also. Having been to many overview & scrutiny committees around the country as an NHS director I’ve begun to learn some things that work and some that don’t. Logical reasoned arguments being the latter and shaming them over not following their own half arsed policies being amongst the former.
They’re currently in total financial meltdown at the moment so my questions are deliberately aimed at pouring salt into an open wound.
My online meetings requests in pharma always now include Saffy and Redford. If they’re not on the settee then they delay the start of the meeting until they’ve joined. I’ve been asked for their email addresses so that they can invite them separately, and there’s about 50 odd senior managers who follow Saffy on Instagram. Retirement for me beckons I think as I’m rapidly becoming redundant.
Fighting the brambles in my garden yesterday I was checked out by a bumble bee. I’m not sure there was a great deal of nectar for it, but it was very pleasing to see and hear it.
Spent the morning feeling like I was in Fargo. Council are pollarding trees and their was a wood-chipper going all morning. Now listening to a very noisy blackbird. Nice to be starting to hear and see spring.
