Today I have mainly been V5.0 (Part 3)

Popped down to Camden to donate some stuff to Mind and on existing the branch on Camden High St came across this.

Roma and Travellers on what I think they call London Drive.

Did you find your way back up to the A30 without difficulties?

Yes no problem at all ..Bristol was busy again but main holdup was to Jn 6 on M42 due to waste of money high speed train project

Well, yesterday was the 1-year anniversary of Sarah and me going on that first date (a lovely afternoon in Betws-Y-Coed). The number of people who commented at Lopwell on how different I was to Lopwell last year, physically and mentally, is about 90% down to Sarah. After getting out of that seriously damaging marriage at long last, I was on a positive path, but it had been slow and heavy progress, with a fair few hiccups along the way. Sarah makes such a positive difference, and it’s clear that even I see the changes when I look back on stuff.

I am quite smitten, and even as an emotional cripple, I’m going to be unapologetically soppy about this.

So glad for you Jon.

Things could be worse…

I was mistaken…

Then they decided the train wasn’t going anywhere, would terminate and everyone should get back off. Women physically fighting on the platform ensued. I’m going back to the pub!

Funeral (Humanist) and wake for my aunt in Cambridgeshire.

Darkly enjoyable.
Family squabbles (amongst those who richly deserve it), catching up with people that we seldom do, and reigniting relationships.

She had a good life.

For the first time in two full years, it’s warm enough to warrant getting the fan out of the cupboard. I know for a fact that I’m jinxing the whole summer but fuck it. Fortune favours the brave apparently.

It’s now raining in Swanwick, and guess what, it’s all your fault!

I’ve doubled down by changing the 9 tog duvet for the 4.5 tog. I imagine that’ll put the tin lid on summer for the next five years.

Today another walk into what has become my favourite place, a particular section of the river Dart as it runs Eastwards through a deep valley across the centre of Dartmoor. This time approaching from the South side starting high up at a reassuringly full Venford reservoir.

Venford Brook below the reservoir

Down into the jungle

I just immerse myself in this & it’s particularly nice on a day as hot as today was.

Down at the Dart, there are a couple of people already enjoying it.

We’re on the opposite bank to where we were a couple of weeks ago.

Very clear.

View back upstream. House on the hill has a great view.

White whale spotted in Mel Tor pool.

Some video (Put quality to High in settings)

Climbing out of the valley. Sharp Tor in the distance.

Back across the Dam

The swimming was fantastic, perfect temperature. I can’t get enough of that place.
