Managed to pay a visit to Notre Dame today and thanks to the lovely French doormen we walzed in in front maybe 2,000 people waiting in the queue in the pissing rain.
I hasten to add Anne does have a disabled badge but it was sweeeeet 
It is absolutely breathtaking.
After watching the documentary about the restoration it really does bring it home just what a monumental achievement it is.

They’re just crappy phone pics Mike, as I don’t have a decent camera, so they don’t do it justice.
I don’t have a religious bone (or relic) in my body but I do love a good church but, despite the smelly crowds, it’s one of the most remarkable places I’ve ever visited.
As they said in the documentary, to be able to see it as it would have looked after it first opened is a rare thing.
Hopefully once the novelty has worn off and the crowds calm down it would be nice to visit again when it’s not packed with people.

Today I have:
Wandered around Blists Hill with KettleJnr1
Ate some very good chips cooked in beef dripping from the old style chippy there
Headed to Enginuity and relived some stuff in this
Met up with @mickbald and two lovely doggos at the pub and did the raffle handover
Avoided 3 accidents on the M54 fortunately.
One day of summer holiday parent duty down…

Wearing a robe in public is the done thing - What was once the signifier of shell shocked men who had faught and lost all in the war is now seen as good… This is not good, the gentleman needs a smoking jacket not terry toweling!
The view was however nice, as was the two hr massage which afforded a near optimum nap oportunity.
SPA’s - Not Lopwell but there can be gorging and napping … 6.8/10
