What’s the floor paint - I’ve got my stairs and landing to sort out at some point.
The shipping news, he’s hoping the galleon he scuppered in 1678 has washed ashore
Under no circumstances buy this floor paint - It’s proven to be quite the cunt.
I know @stu has his foibles but that’s a bit strong.
When we ripped up the carpet there was some suspicious white paint on the edges of the stairs and around the outside of the landing which I suspect if sanded the dust fumes would kill us. Looking for something I can slap over the top and hide it.
I hate it when paints act the cunt …
Gloss or oil based paint isn’t what it once was. This stuff stinks and is fairly thick which one might assume means it’s going to cover and last. Instead this separates and drys thin but still takes 16hrs+ to dry. Thinking of protesting outside Downing St to bring back Lead paint.

To be honest if what needs doing isn’t going to be walked on and there is existing white paint down,I’d give it a sand over with an orbital sander to key it up,then white leyland oil based eggshell. It covers far better than this stuff, and works out almost exactly the same price
Ah, Tittenhurst Park (Sunningdale / Ascot) is a beautiful spot - Not sure I will ever be able to pull of minimalist (Ask anyone who’d ever seen my workshop)
Looking at maybe getting one of these when I have the funds.
I’ve never seen Makita stuff in red, maybe it’s for home diy use where the blue is for trade use.
I know Bosch have two different types, blue for trade, green for home.
Anyone know anything about the the red makita stuff?
Still looks good even after you’ve sanded your finger tips.
Just driven into that Stroud to get a used Curtis live gramophone record …great ..doesn’t have it … Bah! …
shop bloke gave me some cardboard sleeves…(l needed some)…because messed about.
So …comfort food at Sofias Chinese kitchen to make up for it …
We’re burning a huge credit balance at the Barbican due to cancelling things to look after MiL. Tonight it was
which turned out to be a real star turn.
I wondered how/if they would do a piano performance and assumed it would be mimed but it turns out the boy is a trained concert pianist on top of everything else
Yennadon down?
In one! Staying at the Burrator Inn while Mrs 68 does a weekend MRSDE training course with Mouse. Hopefully I’ll be able to persuade his Neviness as far as the res tomorrow (ponies permitting)
Nice. If you can go to the NE corner of the reservoir (Norsworthy Bridge) and park, there are some good walks above. I recently enjoyed going up Deancombe to Cuckoo Rock and then North to Down Tor with its stone circle and row.
Thanks, I remember seeing your walk report and thinking how fascinating it looked up there. I’ll see how far we get today as Nev was knackered after yesterday. Claire was over at Merrivale yesterday and Norsworthy Bridge today and needs the car (hill bag, boots etc)
I’ll probably go up and watch her and Mouse working.
Edit: Cox Tor today, so that plan’s out of the window - phone call during breakfast.
