Looking at “upgrades” (at best sidegrades) for my soon-to-expire mobile contract.

Why do I feel like I’m being attacked?

At one point I caught myself thinking “well of course this option includes such-and-such even though they don’t mention it”.

I have a very good deal with EE. However, EE charge a daily fee for roaming in the EU. So, I recently used a “piggy back” provider whilst travelling - cheaper than the roaming charges. The “piggy-back” used the EE network and I could not tell any difference once I got home between EE and the “piggy-back” and the “piggy-back” worked whilst in the EU as expected. Having had that experience, I would have no problem in switching provider to a “piggy-back” if the economics/package worked in my favour.

For roaming I’ve in the past just bought an e-SIM - most modern phones support it and you just download it. You get a local SIM for the country you’re visiting and just turn off data roaming for your main SIM.

This is probably better for non-EU destinations, otherwise you’d probably need and e-SIM for each country you want to visit or stay any length of time in.

Just back from Glyndebourne, wasn’t sure what to expect apart from being a bit posh. Really enjoyed the whole experience, the opera was great , just got lost in the music, and the marriage of figaro is funny

M’y wife thought it was the best birthday present she had ever got me

They went off to France this morning, so home alone with records and wine , win win
