This morning we have been told that one of my favourite colleagues has died overnight 
He was a lovely guy, always laughing, always had a good word for everybody.
Absolutely devastated !
As a consequence, I have just handed in my notice. Time to go.

My original plan for my 60th next year was to have a big party but it dawned on me that
- I have very few friends
- I have absolutely no blood relatives
so I would be throwing a party for the wife’s (very large) extended family and a few people who wouldn’t know anyone else there.
To that end, if things go according to plan, this year is going to be pretty busy. The family gets pushed out to a joint party with SiL #1 in early 2027, and I’m going to be doing a bit of a tour of Western Europe visiting the various groups of people who I’ve kept up with. Currently looking like five or six dates, probably from May onwards.
