I have needed a printer once in the last three years since my last one died.
I got my neighbour to print a return label for me since the stupid retailer didn’t have a system in place to generate a QR code where the shop taking the parcel would print it
In the five years that I worked from home since Covid I never needed a printer.
He was the runner up!

On closer inspection the defined benefit pension is offering me either an annuity or a lump sum and a smaller annuity. The lump sum is equal to 13.5 times the difference in annuities. I guess an actuary would tell you that around 79 is the standard age to gamble with.

Spend money while you have your health or have more money to spend later on when you are managing ill health.
I’m not rich enough to avoid that choice, i chose the former, taking part of my pension some 6 years early, losing 24% of its value. FWIW the break even for me is 74.
Mind you, Crapita are now 12 months late in paying me that pension… cunts.

Life expectancy at the age of 60, though, is 84.
You can’t make the decision based on statistics, you have to look at your specific circumstances, needs, desires.
Ultimately the decision is a lot easier if you don’t have kids, as you can just spend loads now and get equity release on the house if you need money for care.
