Awesome.

Sheffield, steel town. Bits of it are rough as toast but it has history, architecture and a great feel about the place. Home tomorrow.

Lovely walk stopping at 2 pubs, some nice gin and whisky and now listening to some records.

And this.

The mention of Cromwells statue takes me back to my student days. Having completed my finals and not being confident of a ‘pass’, I boldly stated that I’d climb the statue and show the world my arse if successful. I got a good pass, so up the statue at Bridgefoot, arse on display and a bollocking from the local constabulary, received a well done and enjoy the rest of your night from the bobbies.

Thought I was in an episode of Fleabag!

Enjoying my final day of my 3 week Summer Annual Leave, sitting in the garden in the sun. Very nice it is too. Not as warm as Crete was but pleasant none the less.
I can’t log into my work Email or Apps due to the recent Cyber Attack, so blissfully unaware of the dramas at work.
I start back tomorrow with Night Shifts, and a colleague has told me that I will need to visit a hastily set up IT Hub in Baker Street to gain access to online stuff.
Do I care ? Not anymore.
I retire next year and, whilst I still do my job, I no longer sweat the small stuff.

Roll on retirement

Sounds very freeing. Also the light at the end of the tunnel must give you another perspective and some mental distance to the stresses?

Surprisingly so.
Over the last couple of years, due to various reasons (a couple being Brexit related), my retirement plans have been put back.
We now have a solid plan (both financial and lifestyle) and reality is starting to set in.

Excitement is a great part of it.

You’ve more than done your bit Terry. It’s obvious how committed you’ve been. They will miss your experience.
